Conductor, a tool designed for writing code using teams of AI agents, has announced that the platform is joining Meta. Since its launch in July 2025, the tool has focused on enabling developers to manage complex coding tasks through agentic workflows. Following the acquisition, the company plans to develop a new interface for the platform, with a new product expected to be available for use in early 2026. Until that transition is complete, the existing Conductor software will remain functional with critical bug fixes and new model support.

The acquisition initiates an immediate transition for current users, specifically regarding the Conductor Cloud service. As of November 4, 2025, the platform stopped accepting new sign-ups and app downloads. The Cloud service will become read-only on November 13, 2025, and will be fully shut down on November 20, 2025. During this period, active subscribers are eligible for refunds. To mitigate the loss of cloud access, the developers provided a mechanism for users to right-click a workspace and select "Transfer to local" to move their data and chats to a local machine. Users can also export a full archive of their data through the account settings.
While the Cloud service is being decommissioned, the local version of Conductor will continue to operate as normal for the time being. The developers have committed to providing new models and critical bug fixes for the local application until early 2027, at which point the local app is also scheduled to wind down. The company stated that they have never sold or trained on user data and will continue this policy until the final shutdown of the application in 2027. The specific technical details of the next-generation interface being planned by Meta remain undisclosed at this time.
