Talorys is an open-source personal AI assistant that runs entirely inside an individual's Cloudflare account. It provides core capabilities such as chat with streaming responses, durable memory for personal facts and preferences, full CRUD operations for tasks, notes and projects, and automated reminders or routines delivered through an in-app notification center. All of these features operate without requiring any external servers or accounts maintained by the Talorys developers.

Deployment is accomplished with a single command: npx create-talorys@latest. The installer checks for Node.js, verifies the user's Cloudflare login (or opens the authorization page), lets the user choose an account and agent name, sets an owner password that is hashed and stored as a Cloudflare secret, generates resource names, deploys a private Worker (using Wrangler) and a Cloudflare Pages frontend connected via a service binding, and verifies the live deployment. The private Worker implements a Hono router that accesses a TalorysAgent Durable Object, which combines SQLite storage for all data with the Workers AI model @cf/zai-org/glm-4.7-flash for chat, and chat responses are streamed as Server-Sent Events end-to-end.

The system is designed to fit within Cloudflare's Workers Free plan and does not enable paid features by default. It relies on the free tier's daily allocation of Workers AI Neurons; when this allocation is exhausted the chat interface shows a clear message and resumes normal function after the daily reset, while non-AI features such as tasks, notes, memories and reminders continue to work unaffected. Adjustable guardrails in Settings → AI let users limit output tokens, context tokens, tool calls, reasoning steps, AI requests per day and scheduled AI runs per day.

Data persistence is handled by a single SQLite-backed Durable Object named personal-agent that resides in the user's Cloudflare account, ensuring that conversations, memories, tasks, notes, projects, settings and automations remain under the user's control. Users can back up this data via Settings → Privacy → Download backup, which produces a talorys-backup.json file, and restore it later. Updates are performed with npx create-talorys@latest update, which redeploys the Worker and frontend to the same resources while preserving the Durable Object, password and sessions, and runs schema migrations transactionally on first request.
