On October 7, 2026, OpenAI posted a notice in the history.md file of its public mathematics repository announcing the withdrawal of three manuscripts. The notice explains that a sign error in the paper “Algebraicity of Weil classes on split abelian eightfolds” invalidates a stabilization‑trace cancellation argument and the construction used by two dependent papers, prompting the retractions to preserve the integrity of the public record.
As a result, OpenAI withdrew the following three manuscripts: “Algebraicity of Weil classes on split abelian eightfolds”, “Algebraicity of Kuga–Satake Correspondences for K3 Surfaces”, and “The rational Hodge conjecture for products of K3 surfaces”. Each withdrawn paper now carries a notice that explains the gap and provides a link to the archived manuscript, ensuring readers can access the original version while understanding why it was retracted.
In addition to the withdrawals, OpenAI reported that it had revised 14 other manuscripts with proof repairs, corrected statements, clearer hypotheses and dependencies, and one correction to an obsolete citation. The revisions included work on Lipschitz heights and Ashkin–Teller currents (four manuscripts), Kähler minimal model programs and abundance (six manuscripts), taming and hypersymplectic deformation (two manuscripts), and fixes to Incompressible Box Transport and Finite Computation and Exact Birch–Swinnerton‑Dyer Formula from Low Selmer Corank. As a consequence, OpenAI also updated 13 additional manuscripts to cite the revised editions of companion papers, and added six new formalizations and five other additions, raising the share of top‑line results formalized to 300 out of 719 (about 42 %).
